Hip Replacement Surgery

The hip replacement surgery is a procedure that is done to correct the injured or worn out joint of the hip and it is reinstated with the simulated joint which is made of metal or plastic parts. It improves the hip function and minimizes the pain. It is done due to infringement of the hip bone or fracture or for people who have chronic arthritis. It is called as “Total Hip Arthroplasty” in which the entire hip is replaced and in “Partial Hip Replacement” only a part of the hip damaged is replaced.

Reason for Hip Replacement:

It is a condition that harms the smooth cartilage which covers the tip of the bones and facilitates the joints to move about smoothly.

Rheumatoid Arthritis:

It is caused due to one’s own agitated immune system. It produces swelling which corrode bones and cartilage and distort the joints.

Osteonecrosis of the Hip bones:

If there is insufficient blood supply to the ball part of the hip, the bones start to collapse and tend to deform.

  • If the pain gets worse even with the help of the walker or stick.
